About Catering after working for over 20 years in the food and beverage industry in three different continents; India, Qatar and United Kingdom, I have been working with some of the finest chefs and managers who helped me develop my culinary skills. I come from a small Himalayan country of Nepal; the birthplace of Buddha. Mt. Everest gives us recognition and where the world-famous brave Gurkhas come from, my Both grandfather and maternal grandfather served Gurkhas and fought for the British empire during World War II My Culinary career started at the age of 18 during my school holidays when I went to visit my two elder brothers in New Delhi in 1997 both working in a Hotel. I was offered a part-time job in kitchen as a porter; not an easy job to do but witnessing my elder brother and his team's carving and cooking skills from other side of the kitchen kept me going. My dream to join the Army was fading off my mind started to follow my brother's path! Which was so satisfactory and well respected within the organization. After 4 your years of experience in New Delhi, I had an opportunity to move to Doha, Qatar as Chef in a multi-cuisine seaside restaurants with 5 outlets. While running an Indian kitchen, I had an opportunity to work at other outlets like Chinese, Italian, Arabic and Persian (Iranian) cuisine. After 8 years of experience in Doha, I came to the UK in 2010 and joined a fine dining restaurant “Ma Goa” Putney, London as a head chef for four years. In 20014, I joined London’s best Indian restaurant chain MW Eat http://www.realindianfood.com/ "Chutney Marry” branch as a specialty chef. This is where the world's leaders and celebrities visit on a daily basis but one particular Clint of this company is HM Queen! Yes, our Queen. I take this opportunity as my achievement, this opportunity gives me satisfaction that I was trusted to be a part of the team to serve our Queen. In summer of 2017, we decided to move from London to raise our young family where we could afford to have our own house. We ended up moving to the Black Country and life goes on. By end of year 2018, we thought of having an own place to offer a freshly cooked food to locals. In summer of 2019, The Barge and barrel caught our attention after doing some research in Tipton where locals needed a family pub with good food and atmosphere so here we are here to serve you all.
